Espolòn tequila is a high quality drink for a low price.
What is Espolòn Tequila?
Made from hand-harvested blue Weber agave–the only variety that’s used for tequila–this tequila blanco pays homage to Mexican culture from the inside out.
The bottle’s design incorporates the rooster, which is a symbol of national pride for Mexico, and art inspired by that of José Guadalupe Posada, whose political and satirical art was a touchstone for social critique during the Mexican Revolution.
This tequila is produced in Los Altos, Jalisco, a beautiful and natural environment that imbues the tequila with the essence of Mexico’s culture and land.
Espolòn translates to “spur,” which represents a desire to spur on and honor the dedication to true Mexican craft.

This tequila is an authentic Mexican spirit that’s perfect for cocktails, shots, or just to sip!
Smooth and delicious, Espolòn blanco includes notes of agave, lemon zest, and tropical fruit, with hints of black pepper, vanilla bean, and grilled pineapple for a finish that’s stylish and sweet and perfect for making cocktails or sipping on its own.
Other varieties include Espolòn Tequila Reposado and Espolòn Tequila Extra Añejo for a full variety of complex and elegant tequilas that are perfect for the everyday enjoyer of spirits!
When it comes to tequila, Espolòn is always my first choice for a quality drink at a reasonable price.

Taken as a shot with a lime wedge, Espolòn goes down so smooth!

Poor Man’s Margarita

Don’t break the bank to make your favorite drinks; make a Poor Man’s Margarita instead!
One of the best aspects of Espolòn tequila is the price point. The average Espolòn price per 750 ml bottle is between $25 and $35. For the quality of this tequila, that’s more than reasonable.
It also makes Espolòn perfect for this Poor Man’s Margarita! Slightly altered but just as delicious, this drink is an affordable twist on the classic cocktail.
Using limeade instead of margarita mix is one of the major secrets here. It offers most of the same flavors but is typically more affordable.
You may also be hesitant to splurge on an entire bottle of mix, but limeade has so many uses. This is a less expensive substitute for a margarita that won’t sacrifice quality or flavor!
Want those bended stem Margarita glasses like the ones we used for the Poor Man’s margarita? You can get them here on Amazon; we love them!

FAQs
Is Espolòn Blanco Tequila good?
Yes! This is a quality tequila with a distinct but subtle authentic flavor, made right in Mexico.
It’s affordable but high quality, which makes it an excellent tequila to keep on hand for either cocktails or sipping on its own.
What’s the Difference Between Tequila Blanco and Reposado?
There are three major classification of agave tequila, which are Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo. The difference mainly comes down to aging time. Tequila is aged in oak barrels for a somewhat caramel-y flavor.
Blanco tequila–sometimes called Silver–is un-aged, which is why it’s clear. All of the flavor comes from the agave itself.
This is the best option for cocktails as it’s tequila in its purest form, and any flavor complexities are subtle.
Reposado tequila is aged for upwards of a year and has a slight golden hue to it. This variety is great for more elegant and sophisticated tequila drinks or if you just want a bit of an extra kick.
And Añejo tequila is aged anywhere from 1 to 3 years and has a darker golden color. If you’re looking for a tequila to sip on its own, this should be your first destination!
It also functions pretty well as a whiskey substitute in some cocktails.
