Mummy Brie Ingredients
Brie wheel – This is the star of the recipe. You can buy any brand of brie. It will give you that savory melted cheese goodness as you slice into it.
Jam – You can use any type of jam you would like. From apricot to blackberry to this fig jam and all things in between. Any type of jam works for spreading onto the brie, to add some sweetness.
Package of crescent rolls – The crescent rolls bake up golden brown and are light enough when you bite into it, it is the perfect pairing.
Candy eyes – You can buy these in the baking aisle at the grocery store or just buy these candy eyes online.
Fruit of your choice for dipping – Any type of fruit can be used to pair with your appetizer.
Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 375. Cut the crescent rolls into strips and begin to wrap strips around the Brie wheel.

Take strips of the dough and begin wrapping around the Brie.

Your wheel of Brie should look like this when done.
Keep wrapping the strips of dough over and around the sides of Brie, tucking all the ends under.

How cute is this Baked Brie?
Place the Brie wheel into the oven for 15 minutes or until mummy is golden. Remove and place two candy eyes on the top of Brie.
Recipe Variations And Substitutions
- Cheese – Goat, boursin, or camembert are all going to be a great swap. Just wrap it in crescent roll dough before you add strips to make the mummy look.
- Go Vegan – You can use a plant based cheese in replace of the brie if you need.
- Mini Brie Wheels – You can buy mini brie wheels to wrap and use to make mini bite size wheels instead.
- Dough – Puff pastry, phyllo dough, or even a pizza dough can be used in replace of the crescent rolls.
- Spread – Before you add the puff pastry you can add caramelized onions, pesto, honey, brush on some apple butter, etc on top of the brie wheel.

This Mummy Brie appetizer will be a hit at your Halloween party.
Tips For Making
- I do recommend starting with a chilled brie wheel when you start, that way it holds up in the oven.
- Using a pizza cutter is great for getting long strips to wrap around the Brie to create the “mummy” effect.
- If you find your dough is not getting golden brown, you can use an egg wash to create a golden brown finish on the dough.
- I do recommend serving this right after baking, that way the creamy Brie is nice and melted.
FAQs
Can I use a different type of cheese instead of brie?
You are more than welcome to change up what type you use in this recipe. Camembert is a great swap, as it will hold up as it bakes, instead of melting fully like a mozzarella would.
Can I use puff pastry instead of crescent roll dough?
Yes you sure can use puff pastry in replace of crescent roll dough. Cut your puff pastry and wrap it the same way you would the crescent roll dough.
What other dippers can I serve with Mummy Brie?
Crackers, pretzels, vegetable sticks and slices, baguette slices, and more are all wonderful pairings to go with the brie. Fruit like grapes, cranberries, raisins, blueberries and apples, sliced pears go great alongside.
Try some nuts like almond slices and pecans. Get creative and use whatever you would like to serve with it.
How do I store and reheat leftovers?
To reheat leftovers you will want to place in the oven at 350 degrees, and cook for around 10 minutes or until warmed. Or you can microwave, but know it will cause the crescent pastry to be a bit soggy.
