Ingredients Needed for Halloween Dirt Cups
Whipped Topping – Reach for a tub of Cool Whip; if you prefer, you are more than welcome to make homemade whipped cream.
Baileys – This is a sweet and tasty creamy alcohol that will add a nice flavor to these pudding shots. I used the original Irish cream flavor.
Chocolate Vodka – If you can’t get your hands on chocolate vodka, use another flavor or even plain vodka in a pinch.
Milk – Whole milk will provide the highest result for the shots.
Chocolate Pudding Mix – Make sure the pudding mix is instant pudding, as you do not want to have to cook the pudding.
Gummy Worms – Reach for some of these gummies to decorate the top like worms are coming from the dessert cups.
Crushed Oreos – You will crush Oreos and use that as the crumbled cookie topping on the shots.
Condiment Cups – You can use shot or condiment cups for these pudding party desserts.
These dirt pudding cups can be made in just a few minutes.
How to Make
Combine the milk & pudding mix in a mixing bowl.
Add the Baileys and Chocolate Vodka.
Add the Baileys and Chocolate Vodka and stir well together. Slowly stir in the whipped topping.
Add crushed Oreos to top to resemble dirt.
Transfer mixture to condiment cups. Cover with crushed Oreo.
Decorate with gummy worms and serve.
Garnish with gummy worms.
Storing
You will want to store these cups in a sealed container in the fridge. You can place them in a sealed container, add lids to each, or wrap them in plastic wrap. The pudding will remove odors from the fridge if it is not covered. These will last a few days in the fridge.
Due to the ingredients, these do not freeze and thaw properly.
Variations To Recipe
- You can use a cheesecake-flavored pudding for a twist or even vanilla, butterscotch, etc. I went with chocolate but any flavor of pudding works.
- If you do not like Bailey’s Irish cream, you are more than welcome to leave it out of the recipe.
- Use other candy toppers to decorate the shots to change up the look. Candy eyes, these bug gummies, and more all work great for the Halloween vibe.
- If needed, you can make this recipe dairy-free by changing the ingredients to plant-based ingredients.
Tips For Making
- Make sure to mix up the pudding mixture so it thickens thoroughly. Otherwise, your pudding won’t be fully set up.
- Crush the cookies with a food processor. Or place cookies in a sealed bag and use a rolling pin to smash the cookies.
- I recommend using a stand or hand mixer for mixing for the pudding to thicken, but you can also mix by hand.
