Ingredients:

All you need to make this refreshing drink.
● 1 Raspberry Blood Orange
● Salt & Tajin Seasoning
● Ice
● 2 oz. Tequila (we used Anejo, but Espolon would work too)
● 1 oz. Triple Sec
● 2 oz. lime juice
● Dried Blood Orange Slice or lime
How Do You Make a Blood Orange Margarita?
Use a citrus juicer or by hand, juice the blood orange (to get about 1 oz. of blood orange juice).

This spicy Tajin really ups the flavor.
Add some salt and Tajin seasoning to a small dish and mix. Then, use a little of the blood orange juice to rim your glass. A bit of lime juice would work as well.
Dip the rim of the glass into the salt and Tajin mixture.

Add a pretty garnish before serving.
Add ice to your glass. Then add in the tequila, Triple Sec, lime juice, and blood orange juice. Give everything a stir, then add a dried blood orange slice or lime slice to each glass.
Tips for the Best Margarita
- Orange liqueur can be used, or a splash of fresh citrus in place of triple sec.
- Adjust the amount of Tajin to your desired spice level.
- You can sweeten the margarita by adding simple syrup, agave, or even juice.
- Toss all the ingredients into a blender with ice to make a blended margarita!
- You can mix and match ingredients or adjust the amounts to create the perfect margarita strength.
- I find pulling all the ingredients out of the refrigerator is key to having a nice chilled cocktail to sip on.
Blood Orange FAQ’s:
What’s the difference between a blood orange and a raspberry orange?
There is no difference at all. It really is just a marketing change.
Are blood oranges now called raspberry oranges?
Not always, but yes. It’s a marketing change just because people often don’t want to eat something with the name “blood” in it!
Why is blood orange so expensive?
Blood oranges have a shorter harvesting time than oranges such as Valencias. Blood oranges are ready between December and May.
Also blood oranges typically have smaller harvests, which makes the price higher.
